Sathya Sai School in Tiabaya, Peru

(Updated 12 July 2005)

ESCUELA SATHYA SAI DE VALORES HUMANOS DE TIABAYA

(Sathya Sai School in Human Values of Tiabaya, Perú)

The school was born based on Swami’s message: “The goal of education is character. The essence of education is discipline. The objective of education is transformation, not information”. The idea of the project started in February 2003, with 14 Sai volunteers who were at that time in Prashanti Nilayam, India. Beltrán family was among them and they received news that they had recovered their property after a forty years litigation process. Finally, legal process was over, and in that happy and unbelievable moment, they decided that they would start the first Sathya Sai School of Perú. Coming back to Perú, volunteers started the process to make the school a dream come true. Finally, this year, in 2005, the Escuela Sathya Sai de Valores Humanos de Tiabaya opened its doors with two classrooms, one for fifteen kids under three years old and the second one for twenty children between four and five years old. Each group has a specialized teacher, trained in EHV program. Classes started on March 28th of 2005. It is a school with free tuition, but to carry on with all the expenses, Escuela Sathya Sai de Valores Humanos de Tiabaya receives donations from all members of the Sathya Sai Organization of Peru through a fund installed by the Perú Sai Foundation. The school is around one thousand kilometers away from Perú’s capital.
