Sathya Sai School in Chihuahua, Mexico |
(Updated 13 Dec. 2006)
|
Chihuahua is a region originally inhabited by Tarahumara people, an ancient culture that existed before the Spanish arrived in our country. The ancients used to adore God in several forms. Rayenari is the name that they used to call the Sun, the king of all the divinities that always is giving light to men.
This is the name of our school: Centro Educare Rayenari. The school opened on August 20, 2002. It started with 1 integrated Kindergarten classroom ( 3 to 5 year old children ) with 28 students and one integrated Primary School Grade ( 1st and 2nd grade ) with 12 students. Now, we have 108 students, covering Kindergarten all the full six years of Basic Education. The academic program follows requirements of the Education Ministry. The essence of teaching is the Sathya Sai Education in Human Values program. Most of our kids are come from disintegrated families, with emotional problems and difficulties. Parents give a monthly fee just to cover the administrative expenses. This fee is fixed according the economical situation of each family. If a parent cannot pay at all, the donations raised by the Sai Trust in México are used to cover the student expenses. |
