The Australian Institute of Sathya Sai Education was established in order to propagate the ideals of Sathya Sai Education in Human Values or Sathya Sai Educare in Australia and Papua New Guinea. The Institute offers Diploma Courses as well as being involved in a variety of work for the benefit of society. Dr. Pall Dhall is the Director of the Australian Institute of Sathya Sai Education. Work of the Institute EHV for Parents – The Institute runs courses of Workshops in SSEHV for Parents. These are conducted in different states in Australia and overseas. These courses are held at weekends. Handbooks are available with the full course content. Training in EHV for State School Teachers – The Institute assists State Schools that wish to establish EHV in their Schools. This involves workshops to train the teachers, administrators and educators in the whole schools approach as well as parent education programmes. Facilitators Training Workshops – The Institute runs a course of workshops to train facilitators in Workshops methodology. Training in Sathya Sai Education for Non-Professional Teachers – From time to time the Institute assists Sai Centers in the training of non-professional teachers through conducting workshops in Methodology, Educate Programme and Programmes for parents etc. Courses offered by the Institute of Sathya Sai Education Diploma courses in Human Values are offered to qualified primary and secondary school teachers. This may be taken on a part or full time basis. Full Time Diploma Courses which extend over a three months period. Part Time Diploma Courses, which extend over a six-month period, will commence from May 2002. To be confirmed with Tom. Not clear on the first word. Essential requirement for both of these courses is practical experience at an accredited school with an active whole school programme of Sathya Sai Education in Human Values. The Course Content: 1. Principles of SSEHV - Principles, Practice and Scope of SSEHV - The Five Human Values - Workshops on Direct Methodology emphasizing Creativity and Spirituality - Child Psychology and Development 2. Character Education of Children - Foundations of Character - National Education Goals - Building Character in Schools - Workshops on Integrating Values into Class Lessions - Educare Workshops 3. Working With Adults – Teachers, Parents and the Community - Workshops on Schools as Communities - Developing Skills as Values Educators for Adults - Family and Values 4. Values In Our Society - Values: Now and in the Future - Values Systems in Industrial and in past Industrial Society - Participatory Democracy and its values - Australian Cultural Diversity - Workshops – Research Methodology: Evaluating effectiveness of values programs 5. Working Towards a Peaceful Future - Creating a Peaceful Global Community - Teaching in the Sai School The Course Includes: - A learning journey and personal commitment to values relevant in everyday life. - Regular assignments based on research of literature. - Presentations based on study of selected books. - Workshop skills to a competency level of proficiency for which opportunities to work with parents and teachers are provided. - Practical hands-on classes in accredited schools. Facilities for Students Students have access to the Institute and its library, participation, seminars, workshops, discussion groups and lectures. |
